Phillip L. Bayt has been chosen as the new leader for Indianapolis-based law firm Ice Miller. Bayt will take over chief managing partner duties Jan. 1 from Byron Myers, whose term expires at the end of the year.

Bayt is chair of the firm’s real estate group and finance committee. He graduated from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 1980, the same year he joined Ice Miller.

The partners also selected Robert Gauss and Brenda Horn to serve as deputy managing partners. Gauss is a partner in the litigation group and chair of the professional development committee and personnel committee. Horn is a partner in the municipal finance group and co-chair of the firm’s diversity committee.

Ice Miller has offices in Indianapolis, Chicago, DuPage County, Ill., and Washington, D.C.
