Gbowee, founder of the Liberian Mass Action for Peace, played a key role in ending Liberia’s Second Civil War. She is executive director of the Women Peace and Security in Africa (WIPSEN-Africa) and leads a newly established reconciliation process in Liberia.
Gbowee shared the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Tawakkol Karman of Yemen.
The lecture is from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the law school’s Wynne Courtroom. Space is limited, and attendees must register in advance online at http://international.iupui.edu/event-registration/.
