Local trailblazer Sue Shadley, Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP, was honored as the 2015 recipient of the Women and the Law Division’s Antoinette Dakin Leach Award at a luncheon held in her honor on Monday, Oct. 12 at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.

Unfortunately, Shadley’s health prevented her from attending the luncheon, though she was able to enjoy the occasion via Skype. Plews Shadley Racher & Braun partner George Plews did her great justice as he accepted the award in her honor. As Plews noted in his award nomination, “Sue has absolute integrity in how she approaches any legal question. She believes the law, particularly environmental law, is a very vital, precious thing that is to be honored so we all can enjoy a better environment. Her depth of knowledge and attention to detail are inspiring.”
