The Indiana State Department of Health reported 2,234 new cases of COVID-19, the highest number of new cases since Feb. 6, when 2,855 were reported.

The state said more than 2.98 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday at 5 a.m. More than 2.99 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination. About 6,600 Hoosiers received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine on Monday.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

COVID-19 deaths

New deaths: 27

Total cumulative deaths: 13,661

COVID-19 testing

New tested individuals: 6,059

Total cumulative tested individuals: 3,717,579

Cumulative positivity rate unique individuals: 21.2%

Cumulative positivity rate all tests: 8.4%

Seven-day positivity rate unique individuals: 17.5%**

Seven-day positivity rate all tests: 9.2%**

** The health department reports the 7-day positivity rates with a six-day lag to allow time for more comprehensive results.

First dose administered: 2,996,625 (daily increase of 6,644)

Fully vaccinated: 2,986,545 (daily increase of 4,086)

Available ICU beds: 31.4%

ICU beds in use by COVID-19 patients: 13.6%

Global cases: 203,596,283

Global deaths: 4,307,668

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates — as many as 20% or more — that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
