The Indiana Supreme Court has appointed several new members to the Coalition for Court Access.

Chief Justice Loretta Rush announced the appointments to the legal aid group in a Tuesday order.

Jon Laramore, executive director of Indiana Legal Services Inc., returns to the coalition, replacing Amy Horton, former executive director of Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, whose term ended on June 30, 2021.

The court appointed Laramore to serve until June 30, 2024. Laramore’s previous term with the coalition ended June 30, 2022.

To replace Laramore after the expiration of his previous term, the court appointed Adam Mueller, executive director of the Indiana Justice Project. Mueller will serve until June 30, 2025.

Both appointments are for representatives of civil legal assistance organizations pursuant to Rule 6.6(b)(1)(C).

The court also appointed Scott Barnhart, representing the Indiana State Bar Association, to replace Carl Pebworth, representing the Indianapolis Bar Association, as a representative of a local or minority bar association, pursuant to Rule 6.6(b)(1)(D).

Pebworth’s term ended June 30, 2021. Barnhart will serve until June 30, 2024.

Lastly, the court appointed David Pruitt of Notre Dame Law School to replace Judy Fox, also of Notre Dame Law, as a representative of an Indiana law school pursuant to Rule 6.6(b) (1)(E).

Fox’s term ended June 30, 2021. Pruitt will serve until June 30, 2024.

The Coalition for Court Access acts as a legal aid organization that develops and implements a statewide plan to improve the availability and quality of access to civil legal services for persons of limited means.

The Supreme Court appoints members to the 21-member coalition from areas of practice and the bar pursuant to Indiana Rule of Professional Conduct 6.6(b).
