The Marion Circuit, Superior and Small Claims Courts will be closed tomorrow in observance of the services for the late Judge Shatrese Flowers.

Flowers, 50, passed away on Nov. 5. She had served as judge of Marion Superior Court 28 since 2014.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Light of the World Christian Church.

Prior to the celebration of life, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. will hold an Ivy Beyond the Wall ceremony in Flowers’ honor at 10 a.m.

Flowers and condolences can be sent via Stuart Mortuary.

The Marion County Judicial Selection Committee has opened applications to fill the vacancy on the Marion Superior Court bench created by Flowers death.
