Bonnie Katherine Joslin, 35, pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder, auto theft, false informing and identity deception. A Madison County judge set the New Castle woman’s sentencing for June 2.
Mona Joslin Davis’ body was found inside plastic bags in her Anderson apartment in June 2019, two weeks after the 53-year-old was slain, authorities said.
Investigators alleged Joslin used a pillow to suffocate her mother, The Star Press reported.
When police found Joslin in New Castle one day after her mother’s body was discovered, she maintained that her mother had moved to Florida a few weeks earlier, according to court documents.
Joslin also allegedly called Madison County emergency dispatchers a few days after her mother’s slaying, claimed she was her mother and said she was en route to Florida.
Authorities said Joslin also sold her mother’s work cellphone and stole a pickup truck her mother had borrowed from a friend.
Following her arrest, Joslin reportedly confessed to her mother’s killing while speaking to a fellow inmate in the Madison County jail, according to court documents.
