Dentons has launched its combination with the Alabama law firm Sirote & Permutt, adding to the global giant’s Project Golden Spike initiative that is creating the “first truly national U.S. law firm.”

The combination with Sirote & Permutt was announced in December 2020. Now Dentons Sirote, the firm has more than 80 attorneys in five offices around Alabama, serving clients in 11 practices including corporate, government contracts, litigation, real estate, tax, and trusts and estates.

“Dentons shares our passion for providing superior legal service to clients,” Todd Carlisle, president of Dentons Sirote, said in a press release. “This combination allows our clients in Alabama to continue to work with the Sirote lawyers they know and trust, while also giving them access to additional talent across the globe and a broad range of innovative solutions to help them achieve their goals.”

Golden Spike was unveiled in October 2019 with Dentons’ announcement of its impending combinations with the former Bingham Greenebaum Doll in Indiana and Cohen & Grigsby in Pennsylvania. The merger was completed in January 2020.

Since then, Dentons’ U.S. Region has combined with firms in Utah and Iowa.

“As our clients begin to emerge from the pandemic, they are asking us ‘What’s Next?,” said Joe Andrew, global chairman of Dentons and native of Fort Wayne. “To help them navigate these bigger and broader challenges, we are building our presence across the U.S. by combining with leading law firms that are in and of their communities. This, in turn, enables us the experience and confidence to help our clients thrive — in Alabama and around the world.”
