After all interviews have concluded, the committee will deliberate in a private executive session to consider applications. Applicants’ legal education, writings, reputation in the practice of law and other pertinent information will be considered.

The committee will then hold a public vote. Pursuant to state law, it must submit “the three most qualified candidates” to Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb for appointment when a vacancy arises. Holcomb will make the final selection on Hawkins’ successor.

Additional information about the vacancy is available online.
