Subscribe NowFrost Brown Todd is opening a new office in Washington, D.C., consolidating the firm’s federal public policy and regulatory practices into the new location and drawing upon the expertise of attorneys throughout the firm’s other nine offices, including Indianapolis.
The new D.C. location will be served by newly recruited attorneys as well as nearly a dozen experienced attorneys who represent their client’s needs in their home markets and on the federal level. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the office will operate virtually and move into a permanent address once the quarantines are lifted.
“Leveraging our extensive D.C. relationships with our unique ability to maximize client value makes opening a D.C. office the right call from both a strategic and client-service standpoint,” said Frost Brown chairman Robert Sartin.
Frost Brown Todd’s entry into the D.C. market comes on the heels of Taft Stettinius & Hollister expanding into Washington after scooping a team of from Ice Miller.
According to the announcement from Frost Brown Todd, the new D.C. office will be supported by the firm’s bipartisan government service counsel and regulatory attorneys.
“With attorneys who have served and consulted on the national, state, and local levels, FBT brings well-connected experience in Washington, D.C. at a critical juncture in national policymaking under a new administration,” said Jonathan Miller, who is identified on the firm’s website as the office member in charge of the Lexington, Kentucky, location. “By doing so, we carve a unique value proposition for our clients: reinforcing our personal and constituent-based relationships with key policymakers and the support of a full-service firm that can be responsive to any substantive legal service needs.”
According to Indianapolis Business Journal research from May 2020, Frost Brown Todd was the seventh largest law firm serving the central Indiana market, with 72 local attorneys and 129 full-time equivalent employees. At that time, the firm reported 536 total attorneys nationwide.
