Corydon teacher sentenced to 90 years in child molesting case

A former southern Indiana elementary school teacher who pleaded guilty to child molestation in a deal with prosecutors has been sentenced in 90 years behind bars. Under terms of a plea agreement filed in September in Harrison Superior Court, Corey Faith entered pleas to three counts of child molestation and 33 other counts were dropped.

A sampling of recent incidents includes a 12-year-old boy arrested for writing a threat against his classmates at Greenfield Intermediate School; a teenage girl at Austin High School arrested and charged with juvenile delinquency/intimidation for making threats to “harm others”; and a 17-year-old boy arrested and charged with felony intimidation for writing a threat on a bathroom stall at F.J. Reitz High School in Evansville.

Indiana clerk who refused same-sex marriage license loses lawsuit

A southern Indiana deputy clerk who was fired after she refused to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple lost her civil-rights lawsuit against the county clerk. Her suit claimed religious discrimination on the basis of her avowed Christian belief that same-sex marriage is “against God’s law,” which is “above legal law.”
