The IndyBar is saddened to note the passing of 2004 Indianapolis Bar Association President Gary Klotz on Sunday, December 16. Klotz, a longtime partner at Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP, was admitted to the bar in 1978 and had retired from the firm at the end of 2017.
This time of year is ripe for thinking about our successes and challenges — and our hope for things to come. The Bears on Patrol program has a special meaning to my family and me. On April 23, 2008, the mother of my children was murdered right before their eyes by their biological father while I was on the phone with him. Biologically, the kids are my nieces, but I’ve since taken them in. At a traumatic moment in their lives, donated stuffed animals given to them by emergency response teams were all the comfort they had.
